Ileana Makri lives and designs in Athens, Greece. She has a Business Administration degree and studied jewelery at the Gemological institute of America in Santa Monica. She opens her first garment and artwork selling concept-store by 1987 in Athens. By 1996 the first line of her own jewelery comes to life. Ileana is fascinated by multicultural symbols and their reassignment. Her creations have a "rock chic" spirit as they are for no special occasion with traditional craftsmanship and a very sensitive femininity.
